The Girls lacrosse team celebrated senior day with a dominating 17-8 win over a strong Algonqiun squad last Friday. Prior to the start of the game Coach Morrison recognized a very strong senior class including Allie Barrett, Emma Brandhorst, Tessa Dibble, Melissa Hoey, Amelia Johnson, Emma Mahoney and Becca Olsen.

The Patriots continued a familiar formula as Emma Mahoney started the game off with 2 of her 3 goals for the day
before Allie Barrett and Becca Olsen added 10 more goals (5 each for the day). Hannah Dudley had another big day with 14 draw controls to go with her 2 goals and Jenna Carlton was involved throughout the day with 4 assists.

The defense welcomed back Brianna Stout as she had another big game causing 3 turnovers while showing no
lingering effects from her broken nose suffered a week earlier. Emma Brandhorst and Tessa Dibble also had two caused turnovers each to continue CC’s strong defensive efforts over the last month of play.

Coach Morrison stated “Senior Day is always special, and it adds pressure to win. Every underclassmen wanted this win for Allie, the two Emmas, Becca, Tessa, Amelia, and Melissa. The team went out and had a convincing victory against a strong Algonquin team."

The win extended the Patriots unbeaten streak to 12 games, tying the best run of any CC team in the last 10 years. The team is 14-2 as it heads into its final week of play before the post season.
