CC Beats Wayland 19-9

Concord Carlisle Girls Lacrosse beat Wayland 19-9 on Tuesday, May 10. Both teams were prepared for a showdown after the Patriots squeezed out a win in their last matchup.

CC Patriots took the field, dominated play early and were relentless until the final whistle.

The Patriots goals were scored by 10 different players with Sophomore Payton Vaughn leading the scoring with 5 goals and Senior Captain Johanna O’Neil contributing 4 goals. Other goal scorers for the day were Dudley (2), Leahy (2), Bowen, Hale, Dibble, Andonian, and Wilson.

Highlights include 10 saves by Senior goalie Abby Flynn and Hannah Dudley controlling more than half the draws.

Concord Carlisle’s defense led by Captain Brianna Stout did not let up a goal for the majority of the second half. Stout also caused 5 turnovers and picked up 3 ground balls. Katherine O’Connor, Allie Haney, Sophie Shipe, and Audrey Hunt played strong team defense and made Wayland work for every shot.

Overall the Patriots showed tremendous teamwork and skill throughout the game.
